This Privacy Policy describes how the WA Contact Finder browser extension (“Extension”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you install and use it. By using the Extension, you agree to this policy.
1. Summary
The Extension is designed to help you extract publicly visible WhatsApp contact links
(for example, wa.me URLs) from Google Search result pages that you choose to open
through the Extension’s workflow. It stores some settings and session data locally in your browser.
We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information stored locally on your device
The Extension may use Chrome’s local storage to save items such as:
- Your search preferences (for example: keyword, optional site filter, number of pages, Google domain).
- Temporary runtime state while a search is running (for example: progress and collected links).
- Optional configuration related to membership or authorization, if you enable features that require it.
This data remains on your device under your Chrome profile unless you clear extension data or uninstall the Extension.
3. How the Extension uses permissions
- Tabs & scripting: The Extension may create or update a Google Search tab and run scripts only on that Google Search page to read the visible results and extract matching WhatsApp links.
- Side panel: Displays the user interface (forms, progress, results, export actions).
- Storage: Saves the local data described in Section 2.
The Extension does not request broad access to all websites for this core workflow; host access is limited to Google Search-related domains required to run user-initiated searches, as disclosed in the Extension listing.
4. Data sent to servers (if any)
The core link-extraction workflow operates locally in your browser. Depending on the version you install and the features you enable, the Extension may communicate with third-party or first-party services, for example:
- Payment / subscription providers (for example, ExtensionPay or similar), only if that integration is enabled in your build. Those providers process payments and subscription status according to their own policies.
- Your own website or API, only if you connect an account or token through an authorized pairing flow. In that case, only the minimum information required to verify entitlements should be transmitted.
If your distributed package does not include remote account or payment features, then no personal data needs to be sent to our servers for basic usage.
5. Google Search & third-party sites
The Extension automates Google Search navigation that you start. Google may show security checks (for example, CAPTCHA). The Extension may detect such pages and ask you to complete verification in the search tab. Your use of Google Search is also subject to Google’s terms and policies.
Links displayed in search results may point to third-party websites or services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices.
6. Lawful use
You are responsible for using contact information you collect in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, website terms, and applicable platform policies (including WhatsApp / Meta policies). Do not use the Extension for spam, harassment, or unauthorized data collection.
7. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
